To "perfect" means "to form Christ." To be perfected means that God makes you rich in Christ. In other words, everything God is doing in your life has a single purpose: to perfect you, to form Christ in you, to make you rich in Christ, to give you experiences of Christ. Ultimately, to perfect is to tear down our own and let Christ grow. Everything God wants to do is to form Christ in you and me. He has no other goal than to shape us into the image of His Son. That is, for our own to be pruned and for Christ to grow in us.
