The early Christians, in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, used a Greek word to try to explain the divine movement: perichoresis. “Peri” means “around” —as in “perimeter”— and “choresis” means “dance”: “dancing around.” With this expression, they affirmed that God dances: the Father dances, the Son dances, and the Holy Spirit dances.
