Christ wants to form Himself in us and establish Himself in our being. In this regard, Watchman Nee left a powerful metaphor about what this process means. He said that we are like iron and Christ is like fire. When iron is placed in the fire, the fire burns and penetrates it, so that now, the iron is in the fire, and the fire is in the iron. If someone brings a piece of paper close to the glowing iron, the paper burns because the iron carries the fire within it. We are the iron and Christ is the fire. "To be forged means that He burns us in such a way that we become imbued with His Presence."
